Practice Manager Message

It is early days but I believe we are making progress in the right direction. Thank you very much to the patients who have taken the time to write complimentary letters and emails regarding the staff and improvements that they have encountered. It really is such a morale booster and much appreciated.

So far this month prescription time has been much reduced, more appointments have been made available, non attendance has reduced by 40%, later appointments in the day available.

Further changes and improvements to our service to you will be coming from next month onwards. I have secured a qualified GP for a monthly Joint Injection clinic (referral by our GP's only) from February. Mel is reducing her hours and will run a diabetic clinic on Mondays. Oyin (PN) will run asthma, spirometry and COPD clinics also every Monday.

Currently I am working towards setting up family planning clinics and ECG monitors will be coming to each site to avoid you having to visit the hospital, again starting by the end of next month. Plus an improved telephone system is coming soon.

We have a new permanent Practice Nurse, Beverly Jeffreys, starting with us on January 23rd. She is highly qualified and can prescribe antibiotics for minor illnesses. Beverly is able to administer child & travel imms, Yellow Fever, smears, dressings, stitch removal etc. I do hope you welcome her to the Molebridge.

We are using locum GPs at present on a long term basis to keep stability and continuity. I want you to be able to keep seeing the same faces as much as possible. Although they are locum staff do please realise that they are qualified to exactly the same level as any other GP in the NHS.

Thank you again for all your support and as ever I will endeavour to improve standards and service for you as best I can.

Regards

Mandie Hiscock
